who’s SIP?

all I do is wine. it’s time to share it with you.

before starting SIP, I was combining my work as a freelancer in the event scene and pouring out bottles of natural wine in Ghent-based restaurants. during these strange times, where we all got lost a little, I decided to reboot and reorient myself.

this dream took root after experiencing the wonderful art of wine making during harvest season and spending a couple of harvest in Germany as a winemaker. enjoying the sounds of nature, the blissful feeling after days of intense-but-rewarding, manual labor. feeling the microcosmos between you and the vines, the smells, the many diverse tastes. all of this and falling even more deeply in love with wine, gave the extra kick to launch SIP. arriving back home I jumped all in with a long term plan: become a winemaker and share the love while filling my days (and glasses) with natural wine.

meet SIP organizer of all things cozy around wine, making some wine, curator, combiner, advisor… with selections that suit all emotions.

ik, jij, wij(n).

hey stranger, we missed you - where did you spend your time in these odd days?

at the beginning of this year, all coincidence seemed to have disappeared for a while: spontaneous encounters, long bar nights, unexpected company, new faces… were just as far away as our neighbours and friends. it turned out that coincidence just needed a little, extra push. one that made us grow closer and rediscover the act of excitement and feeling healthy nerves that spark and inspire us.

it's usually so easy: running into each other - literally. but suddenly it wasn’t. so we thought up ik, jij, wij(n) as a good excuse to do just that: meet each other. drink and talk, chitchat, laugh, smalltalk that turns into deep conversations. an approachable way for lots of new faces to have a taste of some new natural juice. and that's got a bit out of hand.

the idea as simple as it was/is: we orchestrates this much-needed, impulsive chat. each individual that signed up bought half a bottle of wine, sometimes even with a finger licking extra on top. a coincidental stranger bought the other half. we did a little bit of magic and paired these two fellow strangers, brought them together on a secret spot in the city where they could spend the afternoon sipping, enjoying, dancing..
1 + 1 = 3.

did we know that after 6 months we would be organising 8 editions, meeting 556 new faces, drinking 278 bottles of wine, prostrating ourselves on 130 benches and discovering 3 cities - Ghent, Antwerp & Brussels.
